October has two birthstones opal and topaz and these are both favourite gemstones for Boom to use in her jewelry designs. Boom tends to use one of two types of opals. Ethiopian opals which are more clear but have deep reds oranges and yellows and Australian which are less opaque but have stunning green and blue fire.  Both of these opals can be found in Boom's current collection of jewelry.  Click here to see all of Metal Studio Jewelry's designs with Opal.

September's birthstone is sapphire. Boom typically uses a lot of sapphire in her designs but in 2017 Boom found some very special pieces of sapphire and made some exquisite and very unique pieces. Typically sapphire is a deep shade of blue but being based in Northern Thailand, Metal Studio Jewelry is very close to the gemstone capital of the world. Druzy is a stunning natural gemstone that occurs naturally inside of geodes or hollow rocks where the crystal structure can form. Druzy has the benefit of being a natural gemstone and also having a lot of sparkle and movement. It is also a very affordable gemstone because in most cases the crystals are quite small but are naturally attached to a backing of rock or mineral.
